Electrix’s infrastructure team is proud to be contributing to a new site-wide generator control system for Auckland Hospital.
The work involves installing a full site-wide generator control system, adding two new main backup 1250kVA site generators, new HV generation switchboards and additions and modifications to the power control system and HV SCADA.
The project began in April last year and the team have recently completed integrating the new backup generators.
Auckland Hospital is New Zealand’s largest medical facility, which requires an essential power network to be constantly maintained, enabling the hospital to care for its patients 24/7.
The team have been working collaboratively with the Auckland DHB Facilities and FIRP* (Facilities Infrastructure Remediation programme) teams to successfully test the backup generators.
*FIRP is a major project of work to replace, upgrade and future proof infrastructure that supports Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Hospital.
