It’s important that with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in NZ that we remain focused as a company and as a country. Electrix’s focus is to protect our people and to enable them to keep working. 

Electrix is an essential service contractor to our clients. It is vital for New Zealand that the lights are on, the gas is flowing, and the Wi-Fi is working. Everyday our teams manage high-risk activities, and we are very good at it. COVID-19 is another risk we are managing while we work.

The 37 km long Oteranga Bay to Haywards A transmission line forms a crucial part of New Zealand’s inter-island high voltage direct current (HVDC) link between Benmore Dam in the South Island and Haywards Substation, near Wellington. 

This line is critical to ensuring an efficient and reliable electricity network for the North Island.

In late 2019, Electrix’s gas group was awarded a contract from Vector to maintain a 200mm diameter steel gas pipe under the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
